Welcome!
I am a graduate student in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University. I am also affiliated with the Department of Oncology, Division of Clinical Trials and Biometry. I have been at Johns Hopkins since September 2002, when I received my B.S. from the Department of Probablity and Statistics at Peking University, China.
Generally, I am interested in developing statistical methodologies for analyzing various types of gene expression data and also in research problems in Statistics which have particular application to genomics.
My Ph.D. dissertation is about development and application of new statistical learning algorithms to complex problems in systems biology. I am especially, but not exclusively, interested in:
- developing statistical tools to integrate high throughput genomic data,
- improving statistical methods of genomics related problems.
- improving the diagnosis and treatment of disease using high-throughput clinical data.
- exploiting strategies for modeling gene regulatory networks,
- understanding biological system regulatory mechanisms and their implications.
And I was also a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics for the following courses,
Introduction to Statistics, Probability and Statistics, Introduction
in Biostatistics, Applied Statistics and Data Analysis,
Bioinformatics and Statistical Genetics, Statistical Theory and
Topics in Bioinformatics.
