Kornet-el-Sawda is the highest peak in the region, with an altitude of 3038m. We didn't manage to reach the peak, even though this was our second attempt, but we did reach an altitude close to 3000m. Maybe next time. The trip was organized by the Physics Students' Society (PSS) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). It was July 2003!
