AMS Faculty Teaching Award Citation

Teaching isn’t just about lecturing, it’s about caring that students understand the material, and no professor better exemplifies this than Prof. Wierman. As a very enthusiastic professor whose teaching goes above and beyond, he has a way of taking concepts that are really abstract and turning them into understandable material. He presents the material with a good combination of the theory and application- making it accessible and fun for all students. Student’s love that he is always available and that he is willing to drop whatever he is doing to thoroughly answer questions. For these reasons, and for being such a cool guy, we would love to present this year’s AMS teaching award to Prof Wierman.
