Welcome to the new Johns Hopkins Trading Team Homepage!

The purpose of this page is to foster the development of a trading club that will ultimately compete in the 2012 Rotman International Trading Competition hosted by the University of Toronto.

With the help of our esteemed faculty and renowned alumni, the team will aim to promote practical financial knowledge to Hopkins' growing finance community.

Trading Competitions

Rotman International Trading Competition

The Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) is an annual event held in Febuary at the heart of Canada's financial district, downtown Toronto. Hosted by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, the competition brings teams of students and faculty from universities worldwide to participate in a unique 3 day conference.

MIT's Fall Intercollegiate Trading Competition

MIT's competition, held in November, encompasses five different 45-minute electronic and open-outcry trading events, as well as a pre-competition social mixer, complimentary meals, and sponsor events throughout the day. Teams of two students each (up to five teams per school) compete for recognition and prizes. Schools competing last year included MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Columbia, Dartmouth, NYU, and Wellesley.

Tulane Energy Trading Competition

At Tulane, university teams compete in a unique, risk-adjusted, fast-paced electronic trading competition held in October in New Orleans. This competition was created to closely resemble the trading skills that commercial energy trading firms practice for sustained success in today's highly-volatile markets.
