Biographical Notes:
D.J. joined Ryan Labs in 2009 as an Institutional Portfolio Specialist. In that role, D.J. was responsible for communicating Ryan Labs fixed income strategies and underlying positions to institutional clients. In 2010, he became a Portfolio Manager, focusing on structured product. He also assists Ryan Labs with asset/liability strategies and credit research. His prior experience includes actuarial analysis, pension fund asset and liability valuation, and pension industry research. He has also spoken at a number of conferences and events including Institutional Investor Institute’s Roundtable for Consultants and Investors, and their Senior Delegates Roundtable, State Street’s Collective Trust Forum, and Cerulli Associates’ Strategy Forum.
Prior to joining Ryan Labs, D.J. was a Senior Research Analyst with Cerulli Associates, a strategy research and consulting firm specializing in the financial services industry. His primary focus was on the institutional fund management industry, with specific interest in pension and retirement related topics. Past research and articles he has authored have covered institutional asset allocation and asset/liability management, liability-driven investment strategies, institutional investment consulting, DB and DC plan design, and the use of alternatives in pensions.
Before joining Cerulli Associates, D.J. was an actuarial analyst at Fidelity Investments. While at Fidelity, he worked in the Retirement Consulting Group, performing defined benefit asset and liability valuation and consulting plan sponsors on retirement plan design. Prior to joining Fidelity, he was an executive at the May Company.
D.J. is a CFA and has his degree from Holy Cross in Economics and Math.
